Death Vally Junction: Amargosa Cafe

Next to Opera House, there is a cafe run by two ladies.

Biscuit was really good. Fluffy and fresh.

She is the baker/chef here. We talked about bread making and she said that she couldn't make sourdough starter for bread as culture doesn't thrive here, it's too dry and just dies.

Runner!

Borax is what made this place. Being one of the boom towns for mining borax, a cleaning agent, this whole building of Opera House and Cafe was once a facility and accommodation for miners. Had cinema, shops, beds, kitchen, everything.

This cafe has just started to operate a few years ago. We had a whole morning in and out having coffee, breakfast and buns. As a bee keeper back in London I had to buy their local honey. Microorganism as small as culture doesn't survive there but felt reassured that bees are doing ok   there.
